About our Firm

Background

Robison, Hill & Company is a professional corporation which originally started business as a partnership on January 1, 1953 as Robison, Hill & Wood, CPA's. On October 1, 1969, the firm took the name of Robison, Hill & Company, CPA's to reflect the addition of other partners. On April 1, 1977, Robison, Hill & Company was incorporated and is now known as Robison, Hill & Company, Certified Public Accountants, A Professional Corporation.

The firm currently has one office in Salt Lake City, Utah which can staff approximately 20 people with room for expansion. The staff has specialized skills in auditing, accounting, data processing equipment, taxes, and management services. We have been actively involved with a wide diversity of clients in the public, commercial, non-profit and governmental sectors of the economy. We have performed work in conjunction with the FBI, U.S. Attorney's Office and various county and district attorneys involved with the discovery, investigation and prosecution of fraud and other irregularities. We have been appointed trustee in several large bankruptcy cases and have been able to successfully reorganize and return the bankrupt to a sound financial basis. In addition, we act as expert witnesses and have been court appointed accountants in several cases. We have represented clients before the IRS and various State Tax Commissions with whom we have good rapport. We have performed financial, as well as special purpose audits, of entities from the public, commercial, government, and non-profit sectors of the economy.

In addition to meeting rigid education and on-the-job training requirements, our principals and professional staff undergo extensive professional development on a continuing basis. Professional requirements demand that each accountant attends seminars and programs to update and maintain their skills, and all attend far more than the minimum. We are registered with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) and we are members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Center for Audit Quality, Private Companies Practice Section, International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants (UACPA), and as members subscribe to the quality control procedures required by these organizations, including periodic peer reviews. Members of our firm are active in civic and professional organizations and have served many hours on committees and as officers of many of the organizations.
